Learn More About the Swisscave WLB-450FHU...
The Black Edition series is designed for a completely simple, puristic appearance. This wine cooler can also be used without a door handle, which makes it optically perfectly centred.
No more worries about dried-out corks and oxidised wine. When wine coolers work at room temperature, the cooling effect automatically brings the relative humidity inside the cooler to the desired 60% or so for optimal wine storage. However, during the winter months, central heating can dry out the indoor air significantly.
The heating system in wine coolers located in cold cellars may also be activated, further exacerbating the dryness of the air. When these dry conditions persist over weeks or even months, the relative humidity within the wine cooler can drop severely enough to cause corks to dry out, letting oxygen into the wine bottle. When this happens, the wine obviously goes very bad, very quickly.
To address this scenario, SWISSCAVE has developed a unique, electronically-controlled, air humidification system, letting the user set the desired relative humidity level between 60 and 85% in the wine cooler. With the sensors, the intelligent control ensures that the desired humidity level is reached and maintained automatically using a humidifier. Thanks to the new convection humidifier, there is much less water logging.
SWISSCAVE launched the product as a device to actively control and maintain both the temperature and the relative humidity inside the wine cooler.
In the following scenarios it is essential to ensure that the air surrounding the wine is raised to the necessary level of relative humidity by means of active air humidification management:
40dB Noise Level

UV Glass Protection

A freestanding wine cooler is designed to stand independently and should not be built in to any form of cabinet or cupboard. Freestanding wine fridges require ventilation at all times. It's highly recommended that there is a minimum gap of 3-5 inches from the side and rear of the unit to any other surface. Freestanding wine cooler units should not be installed under a countertop.
Integrated wine coolers are similar to built-in wine coolers but are designed to slot in perfectly into cupboards to create a floating, seamless look. In comparison to a built-in unit, integrated wine coolers sit completely flush with your cabinetry.
In contrast to a freestanding wine cooler, a built-in wine cooler is designed to be fitted into a cupboard or cabinet. This being said a built in unit can also be used as a free-standing wine cooler. A built-in wine cooler has a ventilation grill which allows cool air to flow into the unit which maintains it's cooling function.
Absolutely, we'd be happy to help deliver your wine cooler internationally. We offer this service on all wine cooling units. Please get in touch with us prior to your purchase and we can provide you with a delivery quote for this bespoke service.
The majority of wine coolers which we stock produce a noise level of approximately 35-45 decibels (dB). When compared to other common household electrical appliances, it's useful to note, a standard dishwasher creates around 45-50 dB and a modern refrigerator generates approximately 35 dB.
The reason a modern wine cooler produces noise is for much the same reasons as a standard kitchen refrigerator. Most wine coolers are designed with a compressor, an array of fans (to consistently circulate the cool air) and refrigerant. The minor difference between a wine cooler and a standard refrigerator is that the wine cooler has the need to hold a steady, consistent temperature at all times to keep your wine perfectly chilled.
