Liebherr WTes 5872 Vinidor Wine Cooler

    • SoftSystem closing mechanism. The SoftSystem closing damping is comfortable and highly practical in everyday use. When the door is closed, the SoftSystem integrated in the door damps the movement and ensures particularly soft closing even when the door interior is fully loaded. On built-in devices the door closes automatically from an opening angle of around 30°.
    • LED lighting. The innovative LED lighting guarantees the even illumination of the interior without UV exposure. Since minimal heat is generated by the LEDs, wines can be presented bathed in light over a prolonged period of time.
    • PowerCooling system. The high-performance PowerCooling system rapidly cools down freshly stored food and creates an even cooling temperature throughout the interior. A door contact switch turns the fan off when the door is opened. This saves valuable energy.
    • Door alarm. The audible door alarm alerts the user if the door has been open for longer than 60 seconds for safe protection of the food.
    • Child lock. The child lock is programmed so as to prevent the appliance being inadvertently switched off. A symbol in the MagicEye indicates when the child lock is switched on.
    • Reversible door hinges. The appliances are factory fitted with door hinges on the right. The reversible door hinges permit optimum use of the appliance wherever it is located.
    • Multi-temperature wine cabinets. Vinothek multi-temperature wine cabinets are particularly suitable for keeping different wines at their respective optimum drinking temperature. Specific temperature zones are achieved through the use of special components. In the upper area, for example, red wine can be cooled at +18°C. At a temperature of +5 °C, the bottom zone is ideal for cooling sparkling wine or champagne. The zone in between is ideal for white wines which should be stored at drinking temperature.
    • Vinidor range. With two or three wine safes that can be precisely regulated from +5°C to +20°C independently of one another, the Vinidor appliances offer maximum flexibility of use. The appliance featuring three wine safes can therefore simultaneously keep red wine, white wine and champagne at their optimum serving temperatures. These appliances also provide the ideal climate conditions for long-term wine storage. Since the wine safes vary in size, and their temperatures can be set with absolute flexibility, these appliances can accommodate any personal selection of wines.
    • Controllable temperature range. Constant storage temperatures are required to allow wines to mature to perfection. The ideal temperature for maturing is the same for all wines, whether red or white, and lies between +10°C and +12°C. The precision electronic control system combined with state-of-the-art climate technology ensures that the set temperatures in the interior are continuously maintained, even when the ambient temperature is subject to severe fluctuations.
    • Activated charcoal filter. Environmental odours can affect wines stored for longer periods. In the wine cabinets, perfect air quality is ensured through an easily-replaceable FreshAir activated charcoal filter.
    • Presentation shelves. The presentation shelf sets off fine wines to perfection and keeps bottles that have already been opened at the optimum temperature. Up to 6 wine bottles can be placed upright on the flexible shelf. Wine bottles can be stored lying down either behind or at the side.
    • Low-vibration storage. Even slight vibrations can disturb the wine maturing process and prevent the tannin's from settling. Specially developed, exceptionally low-vibration compressors in all the wine cabinets mean that the wine is optimally stored.
    • Ideal humidity. Maintaining the proper humidity is an important aspect for the storage of wines. In this way, corks remain supple and do not dry out. Wine should be stored in a horizontal position to keep the corks moist from the inside. With over 50 % air humidity, wine cabinets guarantee the perfect conditions. The air humidity can be controlled as required in the wine storage cabinets by pressing the ventilation button.
    • Integrated heater. An integrated heater permits temperatures above the ambient temperature to be reached. This can be very important, for example to bring red wine to drinking temperature (approx. +18 °C).
Installation Of Your Wine Cooler

We've selected the finest wine fridges available in the UK but we often get asked about the different installation requirments for freestanding, built in and integrated wine coolers and wine cabinets. Take a look below at our brief guides and get in touch if you have any questions - we'll be very happy to help!

    Freestanding wine cooler

A freestanding wine cooler is designed to stand independently and should not be built in to any form of cabinet or cupboard. Freestanding wine fridges require ventilation at all times. It's highly recommended that there is a minimum gap of 3-5 inches from the side and rear of the unit to any other surface. Freestanding wine cooler units should not be installed under a countertop (under counter), built in to cabinetry or covered over the top in any way as this can cause over heating and negates the manufacturer warranty. Find out more about Freestanding Wine Cooler Installation.

    Integrated wine cooler

Integrated wine fridges are similar to built-in wine coolers but are designed to slot in perfectly into cupboards to create a floating, seamless look. In comparison to a built-in unit, integrated wine coolers sit completely flush with your cabinetry.

    Built-in/undercounter wine cooler

In contrast to a freestanding wine cooler, a built in wine cooler is designed to be fitted into a cupboard, cabinet or under counter. This being said a built in unit can also be used as a free-standing wine cooler. A built-in wine cooler has a ventilation grill which allows cool air to flow into the unit which maintains it's cooling function. Find out more about built in wine cooler installation.

    Noise

    Is a wine cooler noisy?

The majority of wine coolers which we stock produce a noise level of approximately 35-45 decibels (dB). When compared to other common household electrical appliances, it's useful to note, a standard dishwasher creates around 45-50 dB and a modern refrigerator generates approximately 35 dB.

The reason a modern wine cooler produces noise is for much the same reasons as a standard kitchen refrigerator. Most wine coolers are designed with a compressor, an array of fans (to consistently circulate the cool air) and refrigerant. The minor difference between a wine cooler and a standard refrigerator is that the wine cooler has the need to hold a steady, consistent temperature at all times to keep your wine perfectly chilled.

How do I reduce the noise of my wine cooler?

There are a number of ways you can mitigate and reduce the noise produced by your wine cooler:

    •  Carpets, rugs, curtains and furniture can all help to absorb the sound created by your wine cooler
    •  Consider using sound-absorbing materials during any home improvement work
When it comes to the installation of your wine cooler, make sure the unit is perfectly level using a spirit level. Sound, vibration and noise absorbing materials can also be placed under your wine cooling unit.
    •  Always ensure there is sufficient air circulating around the product, please see our explanations above regarding the different types of wine coolers for more information.
