    About Narrow Wine Fridges

Slim wine coolers are very popular because they allow you to use the space under counter tops to maximise storage space and are also a great addition to other kitchen appliances. Find the right slimline wine cooler for your home or business.

    Features of Slim Wine Coolers

Our narrow wine fridges come with a range of useful features despite their slimmer appearance and size, a lot is packed in these space efficient appliances:

    Temperature Zones

Slim wine coolers are available as either single , dual or multi zone with most models available in black or stainless steel finish. This refers to the number of temperature zones within the cabinet. Whilst single zone units work to keep your wine at a stable, precise temperature, dual zone wine cooler units work to chill two types of wines at their ideal individual serving temperatures.

    Convenient Wine Bottle Capacity

When it comes to deciding which narrow wine cooler is right for you, you will need to consider the type of wine you are going to be storing and the dimensions you have available. For example, if your bottle collection solely consists of red wine, a single zone wine cooler should be able to provide you with everything you need. Our slimmer models range from 7 bottle capacity all the way up to 38 bottle capacity in a 500mm wide unit - plenty of space for smaller wine collection.

    Protection From UV & Vibration

All of our thin wine fridges provide your wines with important protection from UV and vibration - two factors that can damage your wines over the long term. These narrow units feature UV protected glass doors along with minimal / zero vibration compressors. When situating your wine fridge its important not the place it next to a vibrating device like a dishwasher or washing machine.

    Other Key Features

Here are some other notable features you'll find in most narrow wine fridges. Please check the specific product you're interested in for the features it includes:

    • Sliding Shelves are installed to allow for easy access to your wines.
    • Lockable Doors some slimmer models feature secure lockable doors so you can keep your collection safe from unwanted attention.
    • Precise Temperature Control all narrow units provide precise temperature control via digital displays so you can set the temperature exactly to the level needed.
    • Humidity Control within the fridge is managed by the internal system and kept constant between 55-85% ensuring corks don't dry out and mould is not an issue within the unit.
    • Energy Efficiency although many wine fridges are rated F or G for efficiency narrow models consume fewer kWh compared to larger units.

    Slim Wine Fridge FAQs

What is a Narrow Wine Cooler?

    +

    -

Narrow under counter wine coolers offer ample capacities of from 7 bottles to over 30 bottles providing ample space for a nice wine collection, catering for all your serving or ageing requirements. Most slim sized wine or drinks fridges are fitted with shelves which pull out effortlessly, in addition, these narrow wine cabinets are also available with single or dual zone options. Some thin wine coolers are fitted with locks and some also have varying illumination modes so your wines or drinks are presented in their best light. We stock narrow wine fridges from luxury brands like Dunavox and Avintage.

What Widths Do Wine Fridges Come In?

    +

    -

Wine fridges are available with widths of 15cm, 30cm, 40cm, 50cm and 60cm. If you're looking for a narrow wine fridge we would recommend the Mquvee or Dunavox brands as they stock a good range of thin models.

How Much Clearance Does a Slim Wine Fridge Need?

    +

    -

The majority of slim wine coolers are designed to be used built in to cabinetry or placed under counters, if the model has vents situated at the front of the product it ventilates air from the front and only requires 1-2 cm space at the rear and 1-2 cm at the side for the door to swing open without obstruction.

How Do You Install a Narrow Wine Fridge?

    +

    -

Once the slimline wine fridge is delivered it's recommended to follow the manufacturers instructions for installation. The majority of narrow wine fridges can be used as built in wine coolers and are fitted with grills at the bottom / front to allow air to ventilate the wine fridges system. The front ventilation means that a built in wine cooler can be built into cabinetry and only usually requires approximately 1-2cm gap on the hinge side of the door for the door to swing open. Installation is often as simple as sliding the unit into place, plugging it in and waiting 12-24 hours to let the gasses settle before turning it on.

What is the Difference Between a Slim Wine Fridge and Others Wine Fridges?

    +

    -

Essentially the only difference between a narrow wine fridge and a regular width wine fridge is exactly that - the width. Our slimmer models are designed to snuggly fit into cavities which are thinner than the regular 60cm wide width you might find under a kitchen counter top.

Do Slim Wine Coolers Come With Reversible Doors?

    +

    -

Yes, the vast majority of thin wine coolers come with doors that can open from the left or the right side. We can change the door hinge on most models for a small charge prior to delivery, just let us know. Alternatively, you can switch the door hinge quite easily with a couple of tools - a screwdriver and spirit level. Instructions to do this are included in the product manuals.
