    400mm Freestanding Wine Coolers

A freestanding wine cooler can be placed anywhere, but need at least 5-10cm of clearance on all sides, and 30-50cm of clearance above.

    400mm Built-in Wine Coolers

A built-in wine cooler needs less clearance, and so can be installed under a countertop and next to other cabinets. They ventilate from the front, so this vent can't be covered, and they require a small space on either side too (roughly 5cm), so they don't fit completely flush.

    400mm Integrated Wine Coolers

An integrated wine cooler requires no gaps on either side and is self-ventilating, so it can be installed completely flush against other cabinetry to create a seamless finish.

You can also get fully-integrated models, which can have a kitchen cabinet door or edge attached to them so they blend in better with the surrounding cabinets.

    400mm Single-Zone Wine Coolers

A single-zone wine cooler has one cooling zone to keep everything at the same temperature. They're best if your collection consists mostly of one type - reds only, whites only, or maybe you’re all about those vintage Champagnes. It can keep all bottles at the perfect ageing temperature of 12-14°C, or instead at the ideal serving temperature.

    400mm Dual-Zone Wine Coolers

A dual-zone has two cooling zones, for when you want to store multiple types of wine, or you want one side for ageing bottles and one side for immediate serving. This matters because different wines need different temperatures for serving/storing. Pinot Grigio at 12°C? It’ll taste flabby. Malbec at 8°C? It’ll punch you in the mouth with tannins.

How To Install Your 400mm Wine Cooler

The way you install your wine cooler depends on the type you buy:

    1. Freestanding - can be installed anywhere, but require 5-10cm of clearance on all sides, and 30-50cm of clearance above to prevent overheating. Use a dedicated socket within 1m, avoid extension leads. Wait 4-6 hours before switching on (or 24 hours if transported on its side).
    2. Built-in - can be installed very close to other cabinets, but still requires a small surrounding space of roughly 5cm. The front vent must not be covered.
    3. Integrated - can be installed flush to other cabinets, with no ventilation required.
    4. Fully-integrated - can be installed flush to other cabinets, and you can attach a door or cabinet edge to the fridge door to hide the fridge and help it blend in.
